Revitalization of Praga District

Revitalization is a term taken from latin re+vita – literally means restored to life, revive. It is a process of spatial, social and economic changes in degraded parts of the city, which allows to improve the quality of life, restores spatial order and guaranties economic recovery and reconstruction of social bonds. All these are close to the idea of the Monopol Warszawski Association activities.

Monopol Warszawski Association as a member of the Union of Associations of Praga takes part in the process of Revitalization of Praga district. For example the Association helps to collect sources for Targowa 50/52 street and wants to organize there a branch of the Historical Museum of Warsaw. Prepared program assumes the form of an open open-air museum with additional events and attractions, using the neighboring area as an attractive spare space. The aim is to create a modern facility which is a showcase and a memory in this part of town, promoting the city itself among the guests of great events taking place on this side of the Vistula.

The plans of the Association also include revitalization of the building at Targowa 56 Street (Minter house), which we would like to use as a base for the restoration and promotion of Praga's disappearing crafts. What is more the Association wants to adapt the building at 11 Listopada 13/15 street for a hostel.
